Fireball Whiskey Sauce

Fireball Whiskey Sauce

This batch of Fireball Whiskey Sauce made into some pulled chicken sandwiches. I could take a bath in this sauce, so lather it over anything that you would put BBQ sauce on!

I’m not sure where I come up with this stuff. Especially a sauce made with whiskey and let alone cinnamon flavored whisky. Heck, I don’t even drink whiskey, which is a good thing…. don’t ask, HA! Anyway, Thursday morning I woke up and was thinking about what to make for my post this week and for some reason, Fireball Whiskey came to mind. I was thinking barbecue something because it’s been so warm out and definitely a sauce. So I found myself on an early morning grocery and liquor store run. I’m still giggling, my buddy Dave over at Bacchus Wine and Spirits, was teasing me. “Starting out early today, Heather”?! LOL! He is a fellow foodie so he gets it. When you get inspired, you just got to make it! This sauce turned out pretty darn yummy. The cinnamon along with jalapeno peppers and the added honey, give it a sweet heat with just enough kick to jazz up any chicken or pork. I opted on just posting this sauce recipe but I did smoke my chicken on the Traeger and then finished it off in the oven with added sauce, ginger beer, onion, jalapeno and garlic. So good! It will be tonight’s dinner when I go up to my folks house to watch the Master’s with my Dad! Can’t wait!

I had a busy week showing houses in the mountains this week. I have a great client who wants to live off the beaten path. I love this because he likes to explore new areas as much as me. This weeks journey took us off road and on some dirt roads into some really beautiful country. As a crow flies, it’s only about 20 miles from where I live but the route took us on 180 mile circle! Crazy Colorado mountains! Besides being a driving fool this week, I also was a painting fool as well. It’s that time of year that I need to prepare my garden for the summer. This year I decided that I am not going to deal with the out of control weeds and that I would combat my issue with black plastic and tires. My Dad helped me lay the plastic (2 person job for sure) but I painted fourteen tires (Discount Tire gave them all to me for free) and I hauled them all down to the garden along with twelve, fifty five quart bags of dirt. I swear that is a better than any workout that you can get at the gym and I sure feel muscles that I never thought that I have had! Check out my pictures below! I for sure will have the most colorful garden in Colorado this year but what I love the most (besides no weeding) is’ it’s super fun and once it gets established, it will be a definite conversation starter.  I am so antsy to get my hands dirty and start planting! Three weeks and counting!

Enjoy and have a good week!

Why the heck not?

My assembly line of tire painting. Hot sunny day, a cold beer and good music playing. Oh, I got a pretty big tan to boot! It was a good day!

Who knew that tires could end up so cute? I know, I’m a little odd… LOL!

The beginnings of my tire garden. I hope this works. You certainly won’t miss it! I think I’ll like it and who wouldn’t with that view?!
